Snapshots #3: Water

snapshots16

I’m a bit of an amateur photographer – I studied photography at A Level, and it’s always been a hobby of mine. Snapshots is the feature where I share some of that photography! All of the photos link to my Flickr account, in case you’re interested in viewing more.

Today’s theme is: water.

At one of the millponds nearby.

Same millpond as above. The area is now a college for adults with learning disabilities, but most of the grounds are open to the public.

    1. Thank you 😀 If I’m going out for the day I tend to plan to take my camera, and sometimes I just like to take photography walks 🙂 But unless I’ve planned in advance, I don’t often just take spur of the moment photos, which is a shame 😦

  1. Wow, these are all so pretty! I love the photograph of the bridge in France. The reflection is just so nice! I love the one in Leiden as well. Wish I could move to a city that pretty as well!

Wonderful photographs, Rinn! I can’t wait to see more! 🙂

    1. Haha, I see what you mean! There’s an area around here, it was a small industrial site but now it’s abandoned, and there’s some seriously creepy stuff there. All these little metal sheds all overgrown, a tractor covered in vines, and this little brick building that I want to venture into but I’m too scared to go alone!

  2. I love that picture of Leiden, it really captured the feel of the city. I studied psychology in leiden, although I never lived in the city. For a second I thought you where from the Netherlands as well, but your about me page tells me your studying dutch. Can I ask how it is to be studying dutch? I hear it’s a language that’s difficult to learn. If you ever need someone to practice your dutch, just let me know :).
And OMG you love Sanctum 2 as well! I just send you a friend request on steam! Sorry I went a bit off topic here, but it’s not often i meet a fellow book lover who also loves games and Sanctum!

    1. Oh really? 😀 And nope, I’ll be moving there next week though – to go and study in Leiden! I really like learning Dutch actually, although I’m teaching myself which of course makes it trickier. I did seven years of German which I think has really helped, as often I can guess at words and phrases because of the German translation. Although some words are TOTALLY different 😛

Yes!! 😀 No problem, I love to meet fellow book lovers and gamers too!

  3. My favourite one has to be the last one! Even though it’s so simplistic, the depth just brings so much meaning. I absolutely love photography too but I never get the chance to take my own photos. I love looking at good photography though. Photography like yours. *wink wink*

  4. These photos are gorgeous!

I love photography, I’ve never had any training or anything so I kind of make it up as I go along, and sometimes I do think it’s just fluke when I get a great photo 😀

If any one wanted to have a look. A real mix of things, though usually not people I guess.

    1. Thanks Kirsty 😀

Sometimes the best shots just require a quick response, or sometimes you think you’ve taken an okay photo – but once it’s uploaded, you’re surprised by the result! Most of the time mine is down to sheer quantity – I take a LOT of pictures, so at least a few have to be good, right? 😛

I’m already following you on Flickr *urges other people to* Go follow Kirsty!
